Sometimes it takes a SWAT team rushing into your Sons' school to remind you of the important things in life. You can read about it here. However, reading about it doesn't really sum up the intensity of the situation. I was in the school parking lot the entire time and watched as the Police and SWAT team arrived and ran into the building with large guns. As a parent it's a sobering reminder that I can't control everything, but that's an issue of my own that not everyone understands.
After that excitement, I didn't feel much like going to the gym. So I picked up Gar and Lucia and we went on a mission to get Vegan doughnuts. The doughnuts were for me. I just promised coffee for Gar and a walk in the park for Lucia. I drove us over to Portland to VooDoo Doughnuts and they were CLOSED! Both locations! Closed for an annual employee party or something. I knew Whole Foods would have some Mighty O Donuts, so I went there instead. Success! From there we made a quick stop at Anna Bananas for coffee in NW Portland and back to Vancouver so Lucia could run at the park.
I stopped by the Pink House on the way to pick Oliver up from school for some yummy vegan peanut butter cookies and insightful information regarding Build a Bear from my cousins (you don't need a Build a Bear link). Always thankful for my Family. I know some people don't do well with their Family. I couldn't make it through the day without them.
Upon picking Oliver up from school, he just wanted to talk about taking his x6 multiplication test.........he could care less about the Lockdown.
And tonight, more Twin Peaks with Solanah and Sam.
Woo! Twin Peaks!
